By Car:

From Montreal and Points North
Travel Route 15 south to Champlain Crossing, connecting with I-87 south. Continue on I-87 south to Exit 34. Turn left on to Route 9N South, through Au Sable Forks to the town of Jay. Turn right on to Route 86 and follow through the town of Wilmington, past Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort and continue into Lake Placid.

From Albany, New York City and Points South
NY State Thruway (I-87) north to Exit 24 (Albany).
Follow Exit 1N to continue on I-87 North (now called the Northway) towards Montreal. Take Exit 30, then make a left on to Route 73 towards Keene for 16 1/2 miles. At the Elm Tree Inn, bear left continuing on Route 73 passing through the Cascade Lakes area. Continue on to Lake Placid passing the 1980 Winter Olympic Ski Jumping complex and the Lake Placid Horse Show grounds. Bear right at the “Y” continuing on Route 73. At the junction of Route 73 and 86, turn left on to Route 86 and follow the map above to arrive at our location. Drive time approximately: 2.5 hours from Albany.

By Air:

Commercial Flights:
Adirondack Regional Airport in Saranac Lake, 16 miles from Lake Placid on Route 86.

The Lake Placid Municipal Airport is about one mile south of the village on Route 73.
Hours of operation: 9 am- 5 pm daily.  8 am – 8 pm in July & August. Runway: 4,200 feet.
Air Charter flights from most airports, scenic flights, tie down, and repairs. 518-523-2473.

Major Airports:
The Lake Placid area is within 2 1/2 hours
driving time of three major airports:
Albany, New York; Burlington, Vermont; and Montreal, Quebec.
All are serviced by major airline carriers and have car rentals available.

By Rail Service:

Amtrak operates between New York City and Montreal
with local stop in Westport, N.Y.
(40 miles from Lake Placid).

Shuttle bus service to Lake Placid must be arranged
with a reservation.

Other stops along Lake Champlain include
Ticonderoga, Port Henry, and Port Kent.
